Over a year ago, Cadillac unveiled the Sollei concept, presenting its vision of a luxury electric convertible.
It is not an announcement of mass production, nor does it come with any binding timelines. To me, it’s both an exercise in vision and a way of keeping the spirit of convertibles alive — no matter the segment. And while the high-end market certainly has its share of exciting models, I feel the opposite side of the spectrum is lacking (I’m still waiting for a true competitor to the MX-5).

Cadillac SOLLEI has gained recognition on the global stage, showcased at Pebble Beach 2025.
With its hand-painted bodywork, luxurious interior, and sun-inspired theme. Its design, choice of materials, and lifestyle-oriented accessories (such as a center console with a fridge and even a bird-watching kit) highlight the brand’s intention to combine craftsmanship, personalization, and technology.

Still, key details of the eCadillac Convertible are missing: technical specifications, an official production decision, and pricing. Without them, SOLLEI remains a spectacular concept whose commercial future is far from certain.

The Caddilac could be an interesting competitor to the BMW Skytop, which I write about.
