At the Seoul Mobility Show 2025, the striking Genesis X Gran Convertible Concept made its debut.
This luxury soft-top convertible is presented by the brand as “the purest expression of freedom.” To me, it feels like a real competitor to the Maserati GranCabrio – plenty of space for four people and a refined, luxury design.
The project draws inspiration from Southern Europe – the “Super Tuscan” exterior color is inspired by Tuscan wine, while the Mediterranean-themed interior focuses on elegance and minimalism. The Koreans know what Europeans like, but I’m convinced the car would also be a hit in China, should it be offered there.
For now, Genesis has not revealed any technical specifications, pricing details, or production plans. What we do know is that the concept is stylistically based on the G90 sedan, which suggests the brand is seriously considering a production version.
Will we see it in showrooms?
There are no official declarations yet, but the styling looks far closer to reality than many previous Genesis design studies. If production goes ahead, the premium convertible market could gain a very strong new player – and although I’m usually more into roadsters, this one has really caught my attention.
